Our Nursery children have been getting ready for Christmas! They have been painting Rudolph faces to hang in the Nursery room, and cutting out pictures of the things they would like Santa to bring them for Christmas!

They have also been enjoying playing Teachers...

... And exploring and creating with play dough!

After blood (Mrs Day's), sweat (Mr Page's) and tears (Mrs Haskins'), the Early Years igloo is finally at a stage for the children to enjoy. Hoorah! :D

Thank you for you milk bottle donations.

Osprey Quay EYFS

We've not let the rain spoil our day today in EYFS! We've been having fun on the soft play in the Hall...

Yesterday while the lovely sun was out, we went out to measure parts of our outside area using non-standard measures during our Maths learning time. We used our hands, our feet and some wellies!

Rapunzel! Rapunzel, Let down your long hair..!

Osprey Quay Early Years have been listening to the story of Rapunzel. We have been drawing pictures about the story and re-telling it using character masks and figures on the stage.

Milk bottle igloo.

We are running out of 4 pint bottles. The plan is to make a lovely learning space for the children to read quietly and develop a Christmas role-play. This is the igloo so far but please keep the bottles coming in. Thank you for your support.

Saturday 8 November 2014

This week in Osprey Quay Reception we have been reading and re-telling the story of The Three Little Pigs. The children have made Little Pig puppets (and put on puppet shows!) and have built Little Pig houses.

We even had the Three Little Pigs and The Big Bad Wolf outside of their house!

Our Learners and Citizens of the week in Reception at Osprey Quay. Well done, we're proud of you!

the equipment.

Wren week!

The pony is called Dinky and he had a full day of attention from lots of excited children. They also loved eating cakes and thank you for all of our amazing buildings and colouring competition entries. Here are some pictures of Wren's special week.

Letters and sounds.

The children have been learning the phase 2 letter sounds. Here is a clip of the Jolly Phonics songs to practise at home.

Wren week!

Next week is Wren house week. With the help of some of the older students we are planning to make a milk bottle igloo. Please could you bring in any 4 pint milk bottles? We need the lids on but please rinse them out. Thank you for your support. We hope it will look something like this.

This week in the Early Years.

The children have had their school photograph taken for the Dorset Echo. They looked very smart!
We visited the life van to find out more about looking after our bodies and staying healthy.
Here the children are meeting Harold the giraffe.

They loved the stars on the ceiling.

Don't forget our Harvest Festival is tomorrow at 9:30.
