Osprey Quay: busting out some shapes!!

We have been learning about 2d and 3d shapes this week in Reception. This afternoon Mrs Milverton challenged us to make some shapes using our bodies. We made some by ourselves and some with our friends!

We have been thinking and learning about animals this week. We have been reading Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell. 

Here are some of our animal paintings:

We have had a new bench made for our outside area which we love to sit on, some raised beds for us to plant in, and also some pallet stepping stones for us to play on!

In Mr Page's Maths group we have been learning about 2d and 3d shapes. Mr Page stuck a secret shape to the back of some of our friends and we had to help them guess what the shape was by giving them clues about its properties. It was lots of fun!

We've enjoyed having the remote control cars out again... 

... And we've even had a special remote control robot pupil!!

We have had a fun and busy week this week!

We have been chalking on the ground and the walls outside...

In Spanish we have been learning our numbers and colours with games and singing...

We've been practising our vowels in Letters and Sounds...

...and our names when we sit down at the Snack Bar for fruit and a drink.

Phew! Time for a rest with Mrs Fryer's Ghanaian lullaby that she taught us in Music...

Osprey Quay: more dinosaurs!

We have continued our theme of dinosaurs this week. We have held dinosaur bones and dinosaur teeth, and looked at 3D dinosaurs on our big screen. It has been a very popular theme and we've thought up and created some brilliant things!
